In conjunction with our 'Skills development' class - our class was instructed to attend a talk with Andrew Glover, a lecturer of journalism at Sunderland University, about the journalism courses offered at Sunderland University. Three courses were discussed: BA Journalism, BA Sports Journalism, and BA Fashion Journalism.


"BA Journalism can be studied full-time or part-time and ranges between 3 years and 6 years depending on wether one studies a foundation year or continues to further study such as a masters degree. This course can be studied full-time or part-time.The current course costs are £9,250 to UK students or £13,000 to international students. On BA (Hons) Journalism, you'll learn all the essential skills of journalism, producing content for a wide range of print and online platforms. We'll teach you how to write and research news stories and feature articles; you'll create video and interactive content; design newspaper, web and magazine pages; and become adept in using all the latest digital storytelling tools for websites and social media. You'll also study the development of journalism and its principles and ethics.

A key element of this course is the range of optional subjects you can take, among them modules in sports writing, fashion journalism, broadcasting, public relations, podcasting, scriptwriting and investigative journalism. Graduate with both an honours degree and the NCTJ Diploma in Journalism, the industry-recognised qualification, significantly boosting your employability."
