What is a business card? a business card is a small card printed with one's name, occupation, business address, etc. usiness cards are cards bearing business information about a company or individual. A business card typically includes the giver's name, company or business affiliation (usually with a logo) and contact information such as street addresses, telephone number(s), fax number, e-mail addresses and website. When designed correctly, your business card reminds people of the first time you met and encourages those who are interested in your products or services to get back in touch or visit your website for more information. Knowing what to add and what to leave out helps create a card that’s both eye-catching and well-balanced. Introduction: What is a logo? Put simply, the term logo generally refers to all the marks that represent a brand. Research: Types of Logo: There are five different kinds of logos. Word-marks that compromises a standalone word or words like FedEx or Coca-Cola. Letter-marks that contains only one letter or an abbreviation: Think of the two C’s for Chanel or the A for Adobe. There is a logo-mark that contains a symbol only: such as Nike swoosh or the Apple seen on all Mac products.   Then there is an emblem: that is a word-mark, or logo-mark within a shape that is essential to the design: such as Harley-Davidson Motor Cycles or the NHL logo. What is a digital profile? With the majority of discourse taking place within the online world - it is beneficial for one to accumulate a presence online. This can be done on various platforms - such as ' Facebook' , 'Instagram', 'Linkedin' etc. Media platforms are a great way to share your work - as anyone in the world with internet access can find your profile. Digital profiling is the process of gathering and analyzing information about an individual that exists online. A digital profile can include information about personal characteristics, behaviors, affiliations, connections and interactions - which helps the viewer/reader understand   Digital profiling is used in marketing, enterprise security, criminal justice and recruitment, among other areas. What is a Personal Statement?: A personal statement supports your application to study at a university or college. It’s a chance for you to articulate why you’d like to study a particular course or subject, and what skills and experience you possess that show your passion for your chosen field. What is a CV? A CV, which stands for curriculum vitae, is a document used when applying for jobs. It allows you to summarise your education, skills and experience enabling you to successfully sell your abilities to potential employers. Alongside your CV employers also usually ask for a cover letter. How long should a CV be? A standard CV in the UK should be no longer than two sides of A4. Take a look at our example of a chronological CV for inspiration. That said one size doesn't fit all. For example, a school leaver or recent graduate with minimal experience may only need to use one side of A4. Although not used as often, a three-page CV might be needed for those in high-level roles or for people who have gained a lot of experience or worked in multiple jobs over the last five to ten years. Progression: Personal Statement Analysis

As to further enrich my understanding of the process of writing a personal statement, I am to analyse an existing personal statement - as to further inform the writing of my own through inferring desirable qualities.  In this section they talk about their employment and how that relates to the degree they hope to study. This is an essential thing to mention if applicable in a personal statement is and is something I will use. Demonstrating to the university that you are regimented as well as having a transferable skill set puts one above most other applicants. Showing genuine interest in your course is also integral - this can be demonstrated in one's personal statement through discussing aspects of the field you wish to study in that are not tied to your course. This shows intuition as well as a genuine drive to achieve in a given topic.

Progression: Careers within the Media Industry

Introduction: In this post I will research career opportunities and explain my findings. I hope to have found new, valuable information that I can use going forward to inform my career choices once I have completed my education.  Initial Mind Map: Prior to completing research I completed a mind map about my preformed ideas about employment. I feel like this will give me a good foundation going forward. Why is it beneficial to research potential career opportunities? As a student, it is beneficial to research career paths that are available in preparation for once one has completed their education. Researching careers that one is interested in helps formulate ideas in regards to higher education - as certain roles require specific qualifications. As an example if videography was one's career of choice it would advantageous to study a course that is in a similar field to the role, i.e. 'Film and Television'. What is higher education? Higher education is post-secondary education, wether this be at college or university. Higher education offers qualifications from Level 3 to to Level 8. I am currently studying a Level 3 course, 'Creative Media Practice' .  Types of HE options: University Higher Apprenticeships  Scholarships Courses that would interest me: I have always enjoyed writing, especially in an online format. I have experience in online journalism through my placement at 'A Love Supreme'. Through conversing with Dan, my mentor, I have considered studying journalism at university. I have also attended at talk with Andrew Glover, a lecturer of journalism from Sunderland University, which further informed me about journalism.
